Transport Permanent Commission of Cuenca Del Plata

The CPTCP is a civil association of international, non-profit and is composed of owners and private operators of the five countries of the Plata Basin with permanent headquarters of the agency in the city of Montevideo.

Our mission

  • To promote interaction between the public and private sectors of this important waterway.

  • Contribute to strengthening the process of integration of the Plata Basin, through greater use of the Paraguay - Parana.

  • Promote and develop river transport, as well as coordination with complementary means it.

  • Favoring the fleet development and modernization.

  • Expand regular, efficient and continuous services.

  • Strengthen professional training of crews affected its fleet.

Our vision

  • Working together with political and technical bodies of the River Transport Agreement for the Paraguay-Paraná (Agreement "Santa Cruz de la Sierra"), so that it is the guiding framework in the five countries that comprise it.


  • The relevant agencies advocate to facilitate customs clearance, port, immigration or other, by electronic means and only in the ports of embarkation and destination.


  • That the operation referred facilitate the issuance of phytosanitary certificates, unifying criteria among the five countries in safeguarding the quality and safety of their products.


  • Convert the Paraguay - Paraná, on the main road transport in the region.


  • Work in raising awareness of the advantages of river transport.


  • Facilitate access to ports multimodal transport.
