With the presence of the Commander in Chief of the Alte National Navy. Carlos Abilleira Aris, senior naval chiefs, superior officers and special guests, assumed the new National Naval Prefect Rear Admiral José Luis Elizondo (55).
With the corresponding protocol acknowledgments, Clte. Elizondo offered the select audience an interesting speech from which we have extracted some of the following concepts:
“Today a different process begins, where after a longing of many years the Prefectural Corps assumes the leadership of the great command of the National Naval Prefecture with the hierarchy of Rear Admiral, thus consolidating a true integration into our National Navy. ”.
Later, the speaker highlighted: “I thank each one of the 1,304 men and women who make up this great command, along our entire river, lake and maritime coast, either in operational tasks or in support functions, that day after day they contribute with their effort and dedication to have a better service to the safety of navigation, maintenance of public order and prevention of pollution of the fluvial maritime environment, thus supporting my presence in this place ”.
Later, he added that “we must continue to travel along the path of knowledge and learning, projecting ourselves towards the future with professionalism and a vocation for service, making more efficient the tools that we have at our disposal to overcome existing deficiencies and those that may come, optimizing in this way the few resources ”.
Another of the concepts that we rescued from his oratory, we found it interesting to work together with private parties: "Given the objectives of the National Naval Prefecture related to the development and maritime progress of our country, it demands to advance in the sense -preparation-prevention- response- and for this we will remain open to interact, exchange knowledge and work procedures with public and private organizations to increase the level of mutual knowledge and thus promote a true maritime awareness, capable of providing an effective and timely response to the situations and threats that the reality impose on us and facilitate the country's maritime fluvial activity in its many aspects ”.
